| ok i have all these posts written in my head about my first impressions
about caracas/venezuelan society/politics and i will elaborate on them
later. but i just found out the most UN FREAKING BELIEVABLE NEWS
POSSIBLE. POSSIBLE.
THE WORLD SOCIAL FORUM IS BEING HOSTED IN MY FRONT YARD IN TWO WEEKS.
i mean, ever since they started having this thing, my
dream has been to attend. sure, from my political/analytical
point of view, there's lots of nonsense involved in the WSF. but,
seriously, if my dream to attend can come true, UN OTRO MUNDO REALMENTE
ES POSIBLE. now, the question is, should i host people or
not? the left can be just as close-minded as the right, and i
really can't share a room with someone incapable of real exchange of
ideas. is that too judgemental?

| going to georgetown, colorado in a few hours. my granpa turned 90
during hurricane rita, so we had to reschedule our flight. georgetown is about an hour (?) from denver and has
a population of maybe 20 but schloads of visitors. it's big draw is the historic georgetown
mining railroad and the christmas market. see:

| jeff's picto post
really does say it all about dem clarks. it's true, scott is a
total (closet gay?) h-o-t-t-i-e who should never, ever wear ripped
sleeveless shirts. you can clearly see in the pictures how we had
to fight off ferocious crowds to snag a place up front.
also, what's amazing about houston is, as the music underling to
austin, the fall lineup isn't too bad: yerba buena (!), los bacilos,
aimee mann, switchfoot, metric, mos def, molotov and of course,
kanye. who, strangely enough, appeared in my dream the other
night, ultimately giving me a free ticket to his concert.

| "is your middle name rita?"
thanks, sushi.
and if anyone in houston wants to go to the julieta venegas concert
next thurs (oct 6), please, please, puh-lease email me and i will be
your best friend. or maybe just buy you dinner before the
show. also, fruit bats this friday, less exciting but still
possible?
